A particle can be reconstructed from diffraction patterns from a set of randomly oriented particles, as measured in an x-ray free electron laser even for unknown particle orientations We demonstrate how to extract particle images from simulations of diffraction patterns from nanorice particles by exploiting its azimuthal symmetry. |
