The use of goniometer based instrumentation at the XPP LCLS beamline enables efficient data collection to be carried out from a variety of samples. The use of automated control software developed at the SSRL macromolecular crystallography beamlines and adapted to experiments at LCLS and the development of high-density sample mounts have been critical to the success of these experiments.
